Haulin' Oats

I'm sure most of us can relate to this experience by a Mysterious Stranger:

When I was a kid I thought that Hall & Oats was Haulin' Oats. I assumed they were a country band that sang about farming.

I know I pretty much thought the same thing at one point.

    And I thought it was "Holland Oats"! Oats from the Netherlands?!

    as a kid I thought they were a black r&b group...they played them on the r&b station a bit didn't know they were white guys until i saw yacht rock...LOL

    And speaking of Hall and Oats...I thought their song with the dramatic repetitive refrain of "she's gone" was "cheese ball."
