Cat Poop Beach

I used to be stupid, or perhaps I lacked the ability to see things through.

One day in my high school years all of my friends were going to the beach which was an hour away from my home in Houston. My parents forbade me from going and before they left for work I vowed that I would make it to the beach. My mother informed me of all the privileges that I would lose if I went against their wishes.

After they were gone I sprung my plan into action and took all of the money I had saved for my day at the beach and instead bought 1,200 lbs. of the cheapest sand available at Home Depot. I spread it across the entire backyard, set up a lawn chair, and I had my beach.

When my parents returned from work that night they were so impressed that they let it stay with the one stipulation that it was my responsibility to maintain our new backyard beach. I had failed to think about our two cats and how a large mass of sand would be a very comfortable litter box. I spent the next two years raking cat poop out of my beach numerous times a week.
