A Problem With The Plumbing

Until I was about eight years old I thought that all the pipes in a house were connected - meaning that if you turned on the sink and someone flushed the toilet, the sewage would then come out of the sink.

I wouldn't take a bath or let my mom cook dinner unless I had the family's promise that they wouldn't go to the bathroom.
