The Real Source of Flat Tires

My sister once told my mother to be careful not to drive on the side of the road (on the shoulder). When my mother asked why, my sister said, "That's how you get a flat tire."

She had seen so many cars with flat tires on the shoulder, that she assumed it was a dangerous place to drive.
